The Season of Tulips

phoenix- scottsdale-wedding-florist

Tulips are always a popular choice when it comes to Easter. Why is that? Tulips are one of the first flowers to bloom at the start of the Spring season. They even begin to bloom when snow is still on the ground, making it a clear indication that warmer weather is soon to come. The start of Spring and the Easter holiday coincide, hence the popularity and association with this particular flower, along with lilies, daffodils and hyacinth.

The tulip means "new life" and "perfect love."

Marsala-inspired autumn wedding for Andrea + Robbie

Married October 22, 2016

Wow! What a month... October really kicked our butts (in a good way). Now that we finally have time to breathe, we wanted to start sharing the weddings we were so lucky to be a part of. Andrea and Robbie's wedding was our last wedding of October, and we really couldn't have asked of a better way to cap the month. The couple was inspired by deep, bold colors. Much of their inspiration board consisted of florals and items within a marsala palette, along with pops of gold and deep purples. Designing the floral arrangements and bridal party accessories for this wedding was a treat. We felt that Andrea and Robbie's taste aligned perfectly with our style. In the end, we achieved a rich and elegant vibe that was fitting for the fall season. There is no better feeling than to see months and months of work finally come together! And a big thank you to all who were involved!!

Wendi + Rebecca :: Love, Laughs & Sunflowers

We were lucky to meet so many new people last month at The Melrose Street Fair. It was there where we got to meet Wendi and Rebecca. They loved our paper-bag minis that we were selling at our booth, so they asked if we could recreate them for their April wedding... and of course we said, "Hell yes we can!" These two are very cool, hard-working women, so it made us so happy to be a part of a day where everyone was getting together to relax and celebrate Wendi and Rebecca's love for one another; no work, no stress... just love, laughs and sunflowers!

Easter Blooms

Surrounded by flowers and loved ones for the past 48 hours... pretty awesome. We had several Easter parties in need of flowers, so we hit the ground running super early Saturday morning (heavily caffeinated). First thing first, we went to pick out a variety of beautiful flowers that screamed "Hellloooooo Spring!" With so many flowers to choose from, Sherry and I turn into a couple of giddy girls... it's like going shopping for new shoes. We freak out and have to touch everything.

3 hours later: This is the part where we poured ourselves a glass of wine and ordered a pizza. Nic stopped over to snap some gorgeous photos (Thank you, Nic!), and we took a little time to admire the work we accomplished so far. We can't say enough how rewarding it is to create these custom arrangements for people to enjoy. It truly makes us smile.

LeDinersaur + Orange Olive Oil Cake

We are who we hang around. Sherry and I find that we surround ourselves with other individuals who are creatives; those who choose to express themselves through their work, through their hobbies, or those who have turned their hobbies into their everyday work. Whether these friends of ours are photographers, hair dressers, makeup artists, calligraphists, gardeners, florists, woodworkers, ceramists, designers of sorts, models, jewelry makers, musicians, car restorers, chefs, bakers and so on... they all have the same thing in common, which is freedom of expression through a form that fills them with true happiness. This leads me into talking about my friend, Olivia.

Olivia started off baking as a hobby, and it recently has become her full-time job with the launch of LeDinersaur. My eyes light up when I see her freshly baked bread. She went from delivering homemade sandwiches once a week to now 4-5 times a week! You can tell she loves what she does... you can taste it in her food. And the best part about it all is that she lives right across the street from me and spoils us with her goodies. Look her up online or on Instagram and give her delivery service a try!

Yesterday morning, my roomie and I woke up to an orange olive oil cake on my front stoop. Of course, we dug right in and had a few slices to go with our coffee, but made sure to save a little bit so I could play with it too! It was just so cute (upon being tasty), so I had Nic snap some photos with a few gorgeous ranunculus and seeded eucalyptus. It can't get any better than good food + flowers! Thank you my sweet friend for all of your bread and treats... we will forever be your taste testers!
