Julie and Donny’s Pink and Modern SPRING Arizona Wedding
Go Pink, Or Go Home!
Couples who want something outside-the-box are some of our favorite people to work with. When Julie expressed her wedding vision as something modern, pink and whimsical that would really wow her and Donny’s guests, well, I was filled with excitement to come up with some cool ideas for them. She didn’t have an exact way to describe what she wanted, which was totally cool with me! Welcoming creative challenges is very much a part of this job, and I respect those who want to take a risk to create a wedding unlike anyone else.
These two live in Canada, but flew out with their friends and family for a special and epic day in Arizona. Thank you, Julie and Donny, for your adventurous spirits! Xo.
Painted baby’s breath, Cappuccino ranunculus (with a pop of red ranunculus), and pink pampas grass made the ceremony space really stand out. The two wanted to embrace the Southwestern elements, so to stay in line with the “modern-pink” theme we painted a few desert plants and succulents and made some cool terrarium centerpieces. The pink sand and druzy quartz tied the whole centerpiece look together. For the transition into night, we found some pink twinkle lights that we weaved throughout the centerpieces.

San Francisco City Hall | Lisa + Jess
We were asked to fly out to San Francisco this past March for the awaited wedding of Lisa and Jess. These two women are insanely remarkable. They dedicate their lives to the medical field, to their loving families and friends, and of course, to one another. We stayed with them for four days, and in that short amount of time, we were quickly welcomed in as part of the family (sort of). I mean, how often do the florists bunk up next to the sweet grandmother, or get to after-party with the bridal party? Almost never. So we were living it up.
We stayed in the coolest 4-storey, purple and pink house (like what one would imagine a gypsy princess to live in with her pet unicorn). It was seriously the best. Everyone was so excited, alive, giggly and genuinely enjoying each and every moment. San Franciso does that to people. There's just something in air (besides the smell of weed) that makes people happy to be there. It's S-A-N F-R-A-N-C-I-S-C-O... no one ever complains about the city. And if they do, they are probably no fun. Congratulations, Lisa and Jess, on officially becoming Winton-Li. Yay!

The Royal Palms :: A Mixed Metal Inspired Wedding
Last month, we were approached by Desert Whim to collaborate on a styled wedding shoot with photographer, April Maura. The shoot was hosted at The Royal Palms Resort & Spa. Now, for those who have never been to The Royal Palms... it's a gorgeous, intimate resort with a Mediterranean vibe + luscious green gardens. It's really, really, really romantic. That's the simplest way to put it! Its surroundings transport you to another place, and it's easy to forget that we're still in Phoenix, Arizona. Countless events and weddings are held here every year, and the cool thing is that each event has a different look from the next. This venue can be transformed to fit many different styles, preferences and color palettes.
For this particular shoot, the floral inspiration for the centerpieces and bouquet was heavy greenery + whites and creams + a pop of berry. We found some amazing kale with an ivory and blush center that we paired with an assortment of eucalyptus, white ranunculus, allium and lisianthus. To fill the small gaps, we chose to add in white wax flower with a berry-colored center that perfectly complimented the hanging amaranthus. We also couldn't pass up adding in some bigger, blush-colored ranunculus. We believe that there should always be a show-stopping flower in our designs, and these ranunculus were definitely it! We wrapped the stems of the bridal bouquet and boutonnière with a pale, eggplant-colored silk ribbon that matched the table-runner, tying in the bridal accessories with the table decor.

The overall inspiration of a mixed metal design (combining various vases, goblets, dinnerware and candle holders) with a simple and sophisticated color palette, plus a lovely couple, made for an elegant and cohesive design fitting to the venue's space. It was a pleasure to be a part of this collaboration!

Alyssa + Robbie :: 2 Year Anniversary
Alyssa and Robbie just had their 2 year anniversary, and to celebrate, they made a day trip up to Northern Arizona for a styled photo shoot with Parker Micheaels Photography. Who says that a girls' wedding dress is only to be worn on her wedding day?! ... this was the perfect excuse to put that baby back on!! Congrats to this happy couple. We had a pleasure of adding a 1209 bouquet to this very special photo shoot! Also, pink is where it's at! Those who know us, know that we love this color... foreverrrrr and ever.
